Bab' Aziz Print , 2024
Limited edition print of 25
Giclée print on Hahnemule paper
This painting is inspired by the movie 'Bab' Aziz' a story about a sufi and his grandaughter as they travel through the desert for the next sufi conference. Towards the right we see the Prince from the story contemplating eternity by a spring. To the left, Ishtar holds onto Bab' Aziz, symbolising their deep love and compassion. Bab' Aziz comforts Ishtar, saying "He who has faith will never get lost, my little angel." Further left, Bab' Aziz merges with eternity, portrayed through blending with marbling and a rising kunalini stem into a lotis, expressing complete enlightnement and ascension.
