Trudie Mooney’s work is usually on a small scale, producing exquisite still life’s in a style reminiscent of 20th Century Italian still life painting, particularly the early work of Morandi.
Her works are not only keenly observed and aesthetically beautiful but through her choice of objects, palette, tone and composition articulate a contemporary mood.

Born in Brighton, she graduated in the eighties from Brighton Polytechnic College when she was primarily a printmaker. Mooney moved to live in Spain in 1985 and taught in various schools until 1992. She now lives and works in the west of Ireland.

After shifting her focus to painting in oils Mooney began exhibiting in Ireland and is now known for her precise still life paintings. Trudie’s work has been selected for the RHA and RUA and is represented in many public, private and corporate collections, including; Office of Public Works and AXA Insurance, Ireland.
